About Us
There is probably a potential member of A Cappella Project living
near you! Women from all communities, ages, backgrounds and
musical experiences are welcome.
Four-part barbershop harmony spans the entire vocal range and is
perfect for the average singer who longs to be part of an ensemble
where she can sing and dance. There are no age, race, weight or
religious limitations. Acceptance in the chorus is measured on the
ability to match pitch and blend with the rest of the chorus.
The A Cappella Project Chorus is a new chorus who specialize in
singing 4 and 6 part a cappella music for
women. The vision of this chorus is to create the highest quality a
cappella and barbershop harmony through performance, education, and
community service. The chorus goal is to maintain a high standard of
excellence, while attracting quality voices and fun people.
Through community outreach and performances, the chorus will have fun,
entertaining, and bringing educational programs into the community to promote
barbershop harmony. The chorus itself will participates in classes,
workshops and conventions sponsored under the auspices of
Harmony,
Incorporated.
Community Performances - A Cappella Project will be available for
community performances that range from local festivals, summer music
programs, fundraising banquets, and annual concerts. Performances will
be
family-friendly, highly entertaining, and educational.
Singing Opportunities - There are opportunities each year when
members of the community can participate with the chorus in singing
engagements, voice lessons, and training. For example, in October 2010 a holiday chorus will be established for women in the community
to learn and perform holiday music. This is an excellent opportunity
for women to experience the sound of the ensemble, immerse
themselves in a cappella harmony, learn proper vocal techniques, and
experience live stage performances and audience rapport.
It is our plan to bring a new generation back to singing the old
songs in new and interesting ways. A Cappella Project will be
not only entertaining and interesting to watch, but is hoped to
attract women interested in performing and singing. Aside from the
music, women will participate in the chorus because of the challenge,
the education, the social opportunities and the FUN.
